Federico Telesca

I hear the problem,
then write the solution.

16 years in professional audio have trained me to hear what a tool needs to do, where it falls short and how it should feel in a session. I combine that listening experience with the ability to design and build the software myself.

I can follow a musical problem all the way into the DSP, the interface and the implementation. The person making the engineering decisions is also the person listening, so the original intent stays intact from the audible problem through its final form.

From the same ears,
to the same hands.

I own and use a wide range of analogue equipment every day. I know how it responds to level, transients and different playing dynamics.

One of the most rewarding pieces of feedback is that the software sounds and feels like real hardware. I develop and evaluate it with the same ears and hands I use on the equipment itself.

Ideas are good, but shipping is better.

I design and build commercial real time audio software in C++17 and JUCE. From the DSP and application architecture to release, testing and maintenance on macOS and Windows.

Audio plugins

Dynamics, saturation, utilities
and more to come.

02

Amp suites

Complete environments for real time playing.

03

Standalone apps

One batch app and two amp suite versions with real time audio I/O.

Selected work from the
fedDSP product line.

PHATurator

Six analogue inspired colour stages in a saturation processor. Each contributes a different response, from subtle harmonic density to more assertive processing, with direct control over how the stages combine.

fedZEP

A complete guitar suite built around original amp models, pedals, cabinet processing and effects, with a strong focus on touch response, low CPU use and immediate feedback.

OPTO

Optical compression with four distinct behaviours, dynamics that respond to the programme material and integrated tone shaping. Designed for smooth levelling and zero latency processing.

HUSH

An intelligent drum gate built around the difference between a wanted hit and unwanted spill. Detection modes for kick, snare and toms work alongside a dedicated Debleed circuit to preserve attack, body and natural decay. It features Mixing mode with lookahead for precise cleanup and zero latency Live mode for tracking and performance.

Industry feedback.

Within four months of our first release, Sound On Sound featured fedDSP multiple times, covering leONE and OPTO.
fedDSP’s software has received praise from professionals at the top of their game, including:

SmoothLok

Flexible licensing, beautifully simple.

Cloud and offline licensing for apps, plugins and other software. I’m developing SmoothLok to make licensing simpler for software teams and their users. Currently in alpha development, not yet released.

Shared goals, clear ownership,
better outcomes.

Engineering ownership

I architect and maintain the fedDSP core codebase, from DSP and application logic through integration, optimisation, release and ongoing development.

My background spans recording, production, mixing, mastering and live sound. Logic Pro and macOS have been central to that work for years, and that experience directly informs how I design audio software and workflows.

Collaboration and feedback

I lead the wider fedDSP team and work with professional users and beta testers throughout development. I translate subjective listening feedback into concrete technical changes, bridging the gap between engineering decisions and the language musicians and engineers actually use.

That work includes coordinating beta testing, following up on bug reports, reproducing issues and validating fixes with the people who found them. I value shared context, clear communication and being easy to work with.
